Reminder: Distant sellers’ producer responsibility   

Producer responsibility applies also to those distance sellers who supply electrical and electronic equipment directly to users in Finland. These companies must cover producer responsibility in Finland by either by joining the producer association or by naming an authorized representative. Personnel change

SERTY´s long-term assistant, Ilona Kytö, has retired August 31st, 2022 and Mila Auvinen has been chosen as her successor. Mila has been working in the financial industry sector for the past 15 years, in corporate finance. She started working for SERTY on June 20th, 2022. We wish all the best for Ilona, may your retirement years be filled with fun and travels!

 

Producer responsibility afternoon
We welcome you to the Producer Responsibility Afternoon at Tampere-talo on Wednesday November 2, 2022. The programme covers current issues on producer responsibilities and legislation for manufacturers and importers. Invitation has been sent as separate email earlier.

The event will be held in Finnish. Please forward this information to your company’s representatives in Finland. You can also follow the seminar remotely.

Please register for this free event by October 18th, including for online attendance, link https://www.tuottajayhteiso.fi/tvip  The event also includes light lunch, coffee and a cocktail-event after the seminar. In the evening there is a possibility for dinner at Sokos Hotel Torni. The dinner is subject to a charge.

 

Autumn meeting on November 28th, 2022

The statutory meeting of SERTY’s member companies will be held adjacent to SERTY facilities (Huolintatalo, Pasilankatu 2) in Helsinki, on Monday, November 28th, 2022. All contact persons will receive an invitation approximately two weeks before the meeting.

 

Changes in company registration

If your business ID changes or a foreign company is granted a Finnish business ID, it must be reported to SERTY’s office without delay – producer responsibility is allocated to the business ID (VATnumber).

 

New WEEE fees in 2023

The new recycling price list for waste from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) was sent to all contact persons in October. The price list will take effect on January 1st, 2023. Fees have been reduced in most categories.

The new price list is available on the SERTY member site  www.serty.fi through the link in the top right corner with the user member@serty.fi and password serty2001.

 

Book release: Litiumioniakkutekniikka – rakenne, ominaisuudet ja turvallisuus

The published, up-to-date work ”Lithium ion battery technology” is written by Vesa Linja-aho, who works in many expert and trust positions in the electrical industry. The basics of battery technology, different battery chemistry’s with applications, the life cycle of battery cells and different battery management systems and battery drive applications. Lithium battery technology also deals in detail with safety issues and, for example, practical examples of problem situations and their solutions. Available only in Finnish.
